Oh so long.

It’s been forever, longer than a month since my last blog post. Sorry about that, i know the internet is dying to see what i’ve been shooting, but its really not too interesting. In the time since blog postings i’ve been to my cousin’s wedding in Texas where i shot a little bit, most of it is terrible due to no auxilary flash like i was hoping to have. Seems even my boss lost the one i was hoping to take with me which is really unfortunate. Enough jabber though, pictures, let me know what you think.

so its been a couple days, but i’ve been doing really non-interesting things, like driving an hour each way to drop off my step brother’s car so it could get fixed, and working on an ad for a high class bird cage company for 3 hours at work today. anyways, on sunday i snapped a couple pictures of my wonderful other half the day before she left for miami and i got one really decent shot, post minor color tweaking. enjoy.
actually, now that i think of it, there was another kind of neat shot, here that one is
i know, boring right? well i only took 3 shots, so i was pretty satisfied with how satisfied i was from those shots, ha.
but anyways, more later

the day has come

So mr. fedex man dropped off a little gift at my house today while i was at band practice, and i couldn’t be more overjoyed. its so awesome!

so i removed the picture i posted because its really really generic and doesn’t reflect at all what i’m trying to do with photography. Once my filters arrive and my extra memory card, i’ll start regularly posting what i’m shooting, so far i’ve only played around with HDR and a 360 panorama of my room.

I decided that this blog, a photo blog, looks extremely naked without at least SOME pictures on it, so i’ll use this entry to exhibit the best of my photography thus far, or at least the pictures i like…..Here goes.
That’s just a small sampling of what i have taken. Most were shot with a nikon d50 with either an 18-55 kit lens, or one of two other tamron 2.8 lenses. if you really need to know i can give you all my settings as well. Actually, most of these comprised my final portfolio for my most recent photography class, so let me know what you think.

The first of many (hopefully)

Hi, I’m Darrell and i want to be a photographer. In order to achieve this goal i figured i should start publicly showing my work, and i feel that the internet is a great outlet for that. Here’s the plan.
I ordered a nikon d40 the other day on a killer deal from ritzcamera.com. I work at a photo studio and have access to a lot of equipment most people don’t have the chance to work with, but it because time for me to get a camera of my own. As soon as the camera is in my hands, i intend to start this blog off right, but i felt that i needed a decent introduction.
All of the pictures that appear on this blog will be taken with a nikon d40 and for a while, two different lenses (nikon 18-55 II, and nikon 55-200). There may be a couple of occasions in which another camera or borrowed lens is used, and i’ll be sure to note those times. I’m also going to make printing available as needed, but we can discuss that if it even comes to that.
So i guess that’s my start for now. I’m really anxious to get the camera so i can start shooting everything, but for now i’ll continue to play the waiting game.
